One Month Update
One month into the new apartment reno - two months to go until move-in.
We have gotten so much done in the first month - It has been mostly tearing things down and in my case running things outside to the dumpster so it hasn't felt like a ton of progress, but it always looks worse before it looks better and now I'm excited to start putting the pieces back together.
We've had a lot of good luck - the wall that we wanted to open up between the living room and dinning room wasn't load-bearing and it was also easier than expected to expand the bathroom into the adjoining closet. We also decided to go for it and rip out the plaster on the walls upstairs rather then trying to repair it. It will be more work upfront but hopefully will pay off with beautiful smooth walls when we are done.
In other news - we rented our current apartment! The new tenant is moving in August 1st so the countdown starts now. Two months until move-in.
