Painting Progress - More Base White
I finally got around to painting the inside of the front door white! You might remember my ordeal with this door from my post earlier this year when I painted the entry. I still can't believe how many times I have run into the issue where trim and doors look white before I paint the walls and then up against the new fresh white paint they look yellow. That is exactly what happened here!
The door looked bright white when all of the trim was dark and the wall were beige but after putting up the new white paint it looks terrible! so dingy and yellow! Luckily this was an easy fix with a little more paint. I can't believe it took me so long to get around to finishing this it has been such an eye sore.
I started with removing the door hardware and taping the hinges so they wouldn't get too much paint on them. Then I wiped the door clean with some all purpose cleaner and went to town - three coats of paint later the door looks good as new! I decided to use a brush instead of a roller because the brush stokes are smoother, especially when you are working on a small project like this and can be really careful. Rollers always leave a little bit of texture and I didn't want that on the door. After a few hours the paint was dry and I was able to re-install the hardware.
Next-up will be the entry reveal! Checkout the other projects I've done in this space over the past year below - It's really come a long way!
