Easy and Inexpensive Macrame Hanging Basket DIY
Nothing makes me happier than when I find a fun DIY project that I can do in an hour that doesn't require a huge clean up or a bunch of new supplies. One of my favorite blogs Deuce Cities Hen House is full of great DIYs and this one hit that magic sweet spot. All you really need is a bunch of heavy sting or rope and a plant - simple as that.
You can find the full tutorial HERE - the material used in the tutorial is paracord which you can find really easily at the craft store or online. I got mine at Michael's (100ft for $9.99). I really liked the paracord because you can use a liter to melt the cut ends of the cord to stop them from fraying.
My plant was a lot bigger than the one in the tutorial and it still worked out great. I left a little bit more room between the knots that hold the planter to give it plenty of space.
I am thinking about painting the plastic green pot I have my plant in white or just swapping it out for a nicer white one. I think white will give a nicer contrast against the black cords. I also think I am going to trim down the ends a bit more.
Overall I'm really happy with how it turned out! It's always great to get another plant in the house especially when it's one the cat can't get to :)
Thanks for another great DIY Scoops!
